Baboon Zoo Baby
People, Places, Pets
Hey, wait a minute! This baboon baby has feathers. What Gives? Actually, this is a cool shot of a Robin Redbreast that I almost stepped on because he too intent on a free snack. Sorry, but I did take the photo just after leaving the baboons. Well, on to the furry ones.
Baboon Zoo Babies... driving brother and sister crazy
If you've looked over this website at all, you know I'm crazy about baboons. I'm particularly nutty over baboon babies and the way they drive their parents and siblings literally up the wall. The kid in these photos is a bit over five months old. This group of baboons is a sub-species that comes from the Arabian Peninsula and Somalia. Don't worry, because the only jihadist among them is the newly born kid... and she only reeks havoc among her family members.
Listen kid, you've got to calm down or we'll put you on medication.
Just wait 'till I grow up. I'll show you!
Older brother and sister can be nice, just as long as the little kid behaves.
On the other hand, this kid doesn't seem to have mastered grooming.
And her jumping up and down is making everyone dizzy.
That's it! Let's tackle the kid and hold her down until she reaches, say five years of age like us.
Dad watching to see that things don't get out of hand.
Mom looking pretty indignant at my taking photos.
"What on earth have you got stuck to your fur? I turn my back and you get filthy. Hey, Harry... Stop posing and help me out."
Six months later and our little gal is a bit over one year old. She's still a bundle of energy and as usual, everyone is still telling her what to do.
I'm whispering to my imaginary friend who lives in this log. She's the only one who understands me.
