I'm a Brooklyn N.Y. kid and to those of my own and my parents generation, The Bronx has always elicited a primal rivalry. This has subsided since the Brooklyln Dodgers ran out on us and moved to California, but the jokes remain never the less. As much as I hate to admit it, the largest jewel of New York's zoo kingdom does reign in this borough, in the form of the magnificent Bronx Zoo. It's big, cool and has Camels, which was enough reason to trek north to the only borough of New York City that is connected to mainland America. My dad used to take me here all the time and returning still brings back the thrill of my childhood. Clicking on thumbnail will bring up a larger photo for your viewing.
